Your Kitchen, Smarter: 4 Simple WeatherTech Mats That Save Time and Keep Things Clean in The Kitchen!
Keeping your kitchen spotless and hygienic doesn’t have to mean constant scrubbing or weekly deep cleans. With just a few upgrades, you can turn your kitchen into a cleaner, more functional space and spend less time maintaining it.
At WeatherTech, we’ve designed four essential kitchen mats that prevent everyday messes, stop bacteria in their tracks, and make cleaning almost effortless. Used together, they create a practical protection system for the most used room in your home.
1. Fridge Mat – No More Sticky Shelves or Spills
Cleaning the fridge is nobody’s favourite job, and if left for too long a fridge will get messy, stained and dirty fast. WeatherTech Fridge Mats are designed to keep spills contained and your shelves clean. They are easy to rinse off, fit most standard refrigerators, stay in place effectively and help keep food separated for better airflow and more efficient food hygiene.
These mats have rubber bases that prevent slipping when placed in the shelves of fridges, but can easily be removed for cleaning without possibly dumping out contents such as food that has gathered or spilled over in the fridge. These mats provide a hygienic easy to clean addition to help you store your food, help protect and separate cooked from raw, and meat from vegetables; and help protect your fridge from your food, as spills and gathering of food can cause smells, mold, bacteria, and even sickness, preventing and making clean up of messes inside the fridge help insure you and your families health!

They are also useful for use in the Microwave or for serving food, as they are very easy to clean and have high edges, so if you have a “heat-spill” in the microwave you will be protected.
2. Under Sink Mat – Stop Leaks Before They Start
The area under your sink is often messy, damp, and forgotten. WeatherTechs Under Sink Mats can help change that. Their raised edges catch leaks, its rugged material stands up to bins and bottles, and it keeps the cabinet base clean and protected from damage and moisture.
Leaks from water can occur under the sink especially if you have a washer or dryer hooked up under there, and particularly in the event you get a new watery appliance, you will need to turn the water hook it up and then turn the water back on, and in the event something went wrong along the way water can end up all over the place, the last thing you want to have to worry about it clearing all the water up to prevent moulding, especially in a small cramped space!
As well as water keeping important cleaning chemicals under the sink can lead to pooling of liquids over time that causes stains and damage to shelving, particularly wood, these mats will create a firm strong raised barrier between the chemicals, water, and spills of everyday life.

These mats are also low enough to help with draining appliances too, when unhooking and removing a washer or dishwasher you need to drain it of its water, this can basically cause a flood in the house if you don’t prepare for this properly, using these mats you can help limit water spilling in this case.
3. Faucet Mat – Say Goodbye to Water Spots.
Tired of wiping around your sink every day? WeatherTechs Faucet Mats sit at the base of your tap to absorb splashes and stop water from pooling, helping to keep countertops dry and preventing mould or mildew from forming behind and around the faucet.
This is particularly useful if you have a wood countertop as water and dish soap can strip it of its oil finish and damage it, plus constant cleaning to avoid hard-water and mildew build-up can also damage it.

4. Dish Mat – A Cleaner Way to Dry
Ditch the soggy towel or cluttered dish rack. WeatherTechs Dish Mats provide a hygienic, antimicrobial surface for drying dishes and utensils. They allow better airflow for faster drying and are easy to rinse, clean, and reuse, saving time and space. It stays put thanks to a rubber base and can be cleaned down with simple cleaning wipes or dish soap.
WeatherTech has two options for you.
- The contained mat, this has sides all around the mat, so its’ best positioned on the opposite side of any draining area (or if you don’t have a draining area, either side). Then after washing those dishes you can stack and dry without any spills.

- Then there is the draining version, this is best on a flush sink, one that has an integral draining space at the same level as the edge, then any items you set to drain, will go directly back into the sink.

These mats aren’t just useful on their own, they’re designed to work together to improve your kitchen in a big way:

FAQ’s
-
So can you use any of these mats when you empty the filter on a washing machine?
-
Yes, the fridge mat with its high sides or the under the sink mat are 2 options that you could use, it prevents that usual use of towels as the filters have to be at the lowest point, which is difficult on floor mounted machines. Give it a go, it can’t be as bad as all those towels!
-
Are faucet mats really worth using?
-
Yes, particularly if you have a kitchen with a wood top, after a while, we can guarantee that this wood will get wet for longer times and will turn black. Not only that, but the interaction between the wood, metal, ceramic and or barrier glue, will become damp with bacteria. If you are an AirBnB person, you will know what we mean!
-
Why can’t I just use paper or a thin plastic roll under my sink?
-
The area under the sink is often just forgotten, because everyone knows it’s a dumping ground for some of the more dangerous cleaning fluids and for those things that you don’t often use. Then you add the garbage and the fact that not everyone hits the mark and you’ll end up with an area under the sink that resembles a bad day at the garbage tip.
So our advise is get yourself a rubber mat that fits, with edges, so if thing get knocked over (like when the cat jumps in the back), then you are protected, as the high sides will retain the liquids. - What is the best way to clean under sink?
- Well we approach this from the point of view of don't! Get yourself a decent undersink mat that you can cut into shape with retaining edges. Once in place, it will take the hassle of too much cleaning. Honest, it works.
